World Trade Center Metro Manila (WTCMM) and University of Santo Tomas (UST), through RX International Events and Marketing Consultancy (RX), has sealed its partnership adopting WTCMM’s Certificate for International Trade (CIT) to be offered as the Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Export and International Trade (PBCEIT) to be administered by the UST Graduate School Center for Continuing Professional Education and Development beginning January 2020.

WTCMM’s CIT adopted as the Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Export and International Trade (PBCEIT) is an educational program that provides cost-efficient, quick, yet effective and pragmatic approach to professionalize one’s business skills and knowledge and allow one to manage and do business on a global perspective. It is the core operational qualification for international trade professionals that gives a complete fundamental knowledge on operational and marketing requirements in order to exchange goods and services between countries. The WTCMM CIT program to be offered in the Philippines is modelled after similar programs offered by WTC Denver, WTC Mumbai and WTC Winnipeg.  The CIT Professional trade designation is earned by completing courses and meeting standards and requirements set by the WTCMM and granted to one who has acquired a comprehensive set of skills enabling one to assess and evaluate the opportunities available, as well as risks associated with international trade.

Aside from the Certificate, participants who complete the eight-day program and successfully defend their business plan may use the initials CITP after their names.  Furthermore, if they enroll in the UST Graduate School, the certificate may be credited as a 3-unit cognate course in the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) program.

Present to formalize the partnership in photo are (left to right): Ms. Sheryl Santos, Sr. Manager, WTCMM; Ms. Lila P. Cailles, VP, WTCMM; Ms. Pamela D. Pascual, President, WTCMM; Ms. Xialemeer Valdeavilla, President and CEO, RX; Dr Robert Sy, Chairman, RX; Prof. Michael Anthony C. Vasco, Dean, UST Graduate School; and Assoc. Untitled The UST Graduate School Center for Continuing Professional Education and Development (CCPED) recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Mr. Reynaldo J. Sermonia for the conduct of the Certificate Course in Investment Management. The Certificate Course in Investment Management (CCIM) was developed jointly by the UST Graduate School – Center for Continuing Professional Education and Development and the R J Sermonia Financial Consultants with the aim of providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the theory and practice of Investment Management. Against the backdrop of extreme volatility in the global financial markets, this program was developed to address the need of individuals and institutions for advice and guidance from ethical, objective and highly trained investment professionals. In addition, it was conceptualized to increase the level of education in investment management in the Philippines to help prevent retail and institutional investors from becoming victims of financial scams. The CCIM is currently the only program in the Philippines designed for professionals and individual investors seeking to achieve a high level of competency in investment management. The program is a transformative experience intended to fit the schedule of the participants who are most likely engaged in full-time work or business. It is a unique program in which foundational financial theories are blended with real-life relevance – lectures will be loaded with practical applications and examples appropriate for the Philippine market. The course will be facilitated by Mr. Reynaldo Sermonia, an alumnus of the University of Santo Tomas and had in-depth training at the University of Chicago, MIT, and Swiss Finance Institute. He has had extensive experience in global cash management, corporate insurance, treasury operations, credit management, foreign exchange, corporate finance and in investing billions of dollars in corporate cash. Mr. Sermonia previously had senior finance roles at major global companies such as Qatargas, Bausch & Lomb, Amazon.Com, Sumitomo Bank Capital Markets, Medtronic, POSCO, among others. Currently, he is a Treasury Advisor based in Boston and an adjunct faculty at Alaska Pacific University. The 8 – week program commencing in August 2016 will be held in two venues: at the University of Santo Tomas Graduate School and at the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry corporate facilities at the Bonifacio Global City.
