Local Applicants (Manila Based) |
1.
Submit to UST Graduate School the following documents:
-
a
photocopy (but duly certified true) of latest Transcript of
Records.
-
one
(1) colored passport size, recent photo.
-
(if
any) document(s) attesting to passing a Bar/Board Exam, or
being a scholar of any agency.
2.
Secure upon submission of the aforementioned documents the
following forms:

a.
Application Form
-
b.
Two (2) Referral Forms: One (1) for current (immediate)
superior (or Dean, in the case of a school); and the other,
for professor in one specialization (major) subject.

c. Accomplish the Personal Data Sheet
3.
Submit to the Graduate School Dean's Office the duly accomplished
-
Application

-
Referral Forms
(2 sets)

Personal Data
Sheet.
4.
After a week, inquire about the decision of the Dean from the
Graduate School Office of the Dean. |

Foreign Applicants |
Step
1: Academic Requirements:
- Submit to the
Graduate School Dean's Office the following documents:
- TOEFL
English Proficiency
- A photocopy (but duly certified true) of latest Transcript of
Records
- one (1)
colored passport size, recent photo.
- (of any)
document(s) attesting to passing Bar/Board Exam, or being
scholar of any agency.
2 and 3 (same
as in For Locals )
- Inquire from
the UST-Registrar's quote s Office (Main Building) whether
application for admission is accepted or not. If accepted, you
will be advised to pay first the Out-the-State Fee at the UST
Treasurers Office (Main Building) before formally enrolling at
the UST-Graduate School Office.
Masterate -
$2,500.00
Doctorate -
$3,000.00
- Present the
Out-the-State Fee Official Receipt to the Graduate School
Office upon enrollment.

REQUIREMENTS FOR
CHANGE/CONVERSION OF STATUS FROM TEMPORARY VISITOR
TO FOREIGN STUDENT VISA
(Section 9, para f of the PIA of 1940, as amended)
1. Written endorsement from the school for the change/conversion of
applicant’s status to student on the school’s Registrar and stamped
with school’s official dry seal.
2. Original copy of the Notice of Acceptance (NOA) containing a
clear impression of the school’s dry seal
3. Original copy of the Certificate of Eligibility for Admission (CEA)
issued by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for Medicine and
Dentistry students
4. Proof of adequate financial support to cover expenses for the
student’s accommodation and subsistence as well as school dues and
other incidental expenses
5. Scholastic records duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign
Service Post located in the student’s country of origin or legal
residence
6. Police Clearance Certificate issued by the National Police
Authorities in the student’s country of origin or residence duly
authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post having consular
jurisdiction over the place for student who resided in the
Philippines for less than 59 days
Note: For student who resided in the Philippines for more than 59
days at the time he applies for the said change/conversion of his
admission status to that of a student, he shall also be required to
submit the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance.
7. Quarantine Medical Examination by the National Quarantine Office
8. Copy of the student’s Personal History Statement signed by the
student with 2 x 2-inch photograph recently taken
9. Photocopy of the photo, data and stamp of the latest arrival
pages of the passport of the student. The passport itself shall be
presented to this office for verification.

Admission Procedures
- Application
for admission to the UST Graduate School should be filed at
the Graduate School Office of the University of Santo Tomas
one month before enrollment begins.
- Application
for Admission Forms are available at the Graduate School Office
- Application
forms are downloadable via this website.
- For Business
courses, a minimum of 2 years work experience required.
- Applicants may
either be required to take the entrance exam or be
interviewed.
- Ph.D.
applicants are required to submit their defended thesis.

In general, an applicant with a
cumulative grade of not less than 2.0 in the bachelors program may
be admitted to an MA/MS program or an applicant with a cumulative
grade of not lower than 1.5 in the masterate program may be
admitted to a Ph.D. program.
A student applying for the
masters program but does not have the required average may be
admitted, at the discretion of the Dean, and may be placed on
probation.
A student on a probationary
status can change to regular status after completing 18 units (6
subjects) of graduate studies the average of which should not be
lower than 1.75. The student must not likewise incur, in each of
these six (60 subjects, a grade lower than 2.0 for the MA/MS
program. For the Ph .D. degree, there must be an average grade of
1.50 for the 18 units and a grade for each of these six (6)
subject not lower than 1.75. |
